Carl was born in Graettinger, Iowa, March 20, 1876. Inga Lydia Olsen was born in Hurdall, Norway, June 28, 1882. Her family settled in Iowa at first, then moved Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. Carl and Inga were married at the Pequot Lakes Lutheran Church in 1902 and moved to Medina, North Dakota where they took up a homestead in Peterson Township section 24. All eleven of their children were born there. They moved back to Pequot in 1933 for a few years before moving to Arlee, Montana around 1936. In Arlee, they lived on a small plot of land near the Jocko River. Inga passed away on July 13, 1949 and Carl passed away on August 7, 1964.
